Guild Monday - Design Wall

When I was preparing for my Saturday lecture (which was OK, but not my best) I came across a dozen or more of these orphan blocks.  I think I'll send them to Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict for her quilt ministry.  There are a couple of ladies in her group, Sarah included, who work wonders with odds and ends.

I was disappointed that I was lacking the "perfect" border fabric and not able to complete True Blue and Playing with Blocks last week at the retreat.  Stash to the rescue!

True Blue Border Choice
True Blue is a large quilt so I felt lucky to have enough of this black and tan batik to make the border.  And I had the absolutely perfect border fabric for Blocks ...

Crayons!

I'm heading out to guild this morning where I'll use the church tables to measure and cut the borders.  Donna and I are also going to try our hands minds at another diagonal pieced border.  Tune in tomorrow to see how we did.  BTW, Donna discovered a website that has a calculator for John Flynn's formula:  www.multi-patch.com.

Thanks for visiting.  Have a great day!

Linking up with Judy at Patchwork Times.

    1. Thanks, Jan. I cut the borders at guild yesterday, hoping to have time to work on them this week. Check my stash report on Sunday ....
