If you do use sashing, maybe something very light so even the yellows and palest greys will contrast with it. I love the black border print but only the viney part, it doesn't need the plaid part. I like the idea of a yellow inner border with the lighter fabric as an outer border so that the border doesn't overwhelm the center, which is so subtle, understated and beautiful! That's my idea, but do what YOU want and like! Which would make the borders even wider. Which is either a good thing or a bad thing. Yeah, dithering.<br />Can't wait to see what you decide!<br />gaylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09208168224439515489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1703137784530530794.post-5518151594648916702015-11-02T18:00:44.891-06:002015-11-02T18:00:44.891-06:00I was just going to say that I like no-sashing, bu...I was just going to say that I like no-sashing, but now I read your reasoning nad understand. You may want to use something other than the plaid -- either you'll line it up (fussy cut) or you won't and one way or the other will bother the heck out of you. I like the yellow print on the left, but I'm evaluating it on the design rather than the tone of yellow. The Lib Quilters group had a post about this exploding pineapple technique. I hadn't heard about it until your post last week. BTW, Karen Hellaby has a YouTube video that shows how to do it (you may recall that I was puzzled by your description).Nannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09239289676429380866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1703137784530530794.post-54611487577177344682015-11-02T13:30:01.264-06:002015-11-02T13:30:01.264-06:00Thanks, Marlene. And I'm considering borders to get it bed size without making any more blocks.
