Auction is closed. The winner has been notified.
Cynthia Brunz over at Quilting is More Fun than Housework is hosting an Orphan Adoption event this weekend. She does this twice a year. Go check it out and then find someone's UFO to adopt!
Some young sports fanatic would be happy to get a quilt made with these sports-themed squares.
There are fifty 5" squares altogether. Half of them are basketball
Another 12-13 are baseball,
And the rest cover multiple sports
There are no restrictions on how you use these squares, but it would be nice to see what you have done with them. Simply leave a comment below. Please, include your email in your comment; last time I had so many "no-reply" comments that I had no way to contact. If you are concerned about security, type "sewandso (your address) at (instead of @) some carrier dot (instead of a period) com."
This auction is open to US participants only until midnight CDT on Saturday, March 25. Selection will be by random drawing of names in a hat. I will pay postage.
Good luck!!
I would love to use these for the Gold Star quilts we make for kids whose parents have been killed in the military or are currently deployed. They are given during a camp week at Camp Pioneer on Lake Erie (July) where the kids are treated to a free week of camp with other kids going through the same thing- time to just be kids and a quilt to snuggle with and take home. It is hard to find fabric for boys, so this would be great.

I would use these in a few boys theme quilts for Project DJ. It is a local group that makes quilts for seriously ill or traumatized children. Thank you.

I make quilts for Quilts Beyond Borders as well as Wrap-A-Smile and other local charities. I have a few other sporty fabric scraps I could add to the mix to make a few nice donation quilts for boys.
ReplyDeleteThese are always great for making quilts for boys for any community project!
ReplyDeleteMy church qroup makes quilts for a homeless shelter that serves families in Iowa. They must have a child to stay at the shelter. Most of our fabric is donated but there isn't much kid-friendly fabric in our stash. We'd love to use these squares in a quilt for our mission. sjvonfumetti at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteThe basketball fabric is perfect for March madness! How fun! :)
ReplyDeleteThese would be great to make for a quilt for a little boy. Thank you for this opportunity!

I would love to win these blocks. Boy quilts aren't as plentiful in our guild. Shannon at Yahoo dot com.
ReplyDeleteThese are a very useable size for making any kid friendly quilts. I know whomever adopts them will make some little boy or girl (they like sports too) happy with a quilt.
