It's not very colorful here this year, I think it's been too dry. Enjoy your Thanksgiving cactus, at least it has budded. Will they last till Christmas?
Your cactus is a little ahead of mine in size of buds. I don't remember what color some of them are so I plan to stick markers in the pots this year when they bloom.
At the salon where we take my mom for her weekly hair appointment, they also have a "Christmas" cactus that is starting to bloom. Maybe it's a Halloween cactus, lol!
Your fall foliage is spectacular! I miss that, although we do get some color here in north Texas. We used to have beautiful falls in northeastern Oklahoma - would love to move back there. I used to have Christmas cactus that bloomed in November. Maybe Diann is right about Halloween cactus - lol!
All-of-a-sudden the trees turned. Rain this week knocked a lot of the leaves down but there are glints of red and gold (even when it's overcast). I put the amaryllis (which bloomed in January) and a pot of paperwhite narcissus (a Christmas gift) out on the patio. They resprouted but no flowers. Meanwhile the geraniums are sharing space on the front stoop with a chrysanthemum and a pumpkin.
Caught up on your posts, Libby, some of them thymely. That recipe sounds delicious and I've noted it to try ...also need a new container of thyme as the one I have is ancient which begs the question, why do I keep things like that!
Comments make me smile; I would love to hear from you! I respond almost exclusively by email, so be sure you are not a "no-reply" blogger. Or include your email address if you need an answer to a question.
yes that is a Thanksgiving Cactus - none of mine are showing any signs of buds - I have 4 of them
