Quilty Christmas Loot

Let the fun begin!

Gotta love Amazon Wishlist.  It sure makes shopping for others easy.  But it also makes it easier to let family members know what you really would like to receive, especially when it's some obscure (to them) quilt-related item.

This year my family really pulled through.  Here's the haul:

Christmas Loot
Crafted Applique by Lara Bucella.

Masterpiece thread, 50 wt. 3-ply, extra-long-staple Egyptian cotton.

Creative Grids Two Peaks in One 6" triangle (a/k/a "Peaky and Spike").

A set of 4 clamps to hold quilt backs taught when making the quilt sandwich.  (They're also good for a hand workout!)

A rolling tractor seat to take to retreats.

And a Garmin GPS to make sure I can find my way to retreats!

Merry Christmas to me!

  3. You got some great goodies! I need to check out that ruler as I have a quilt in mind that would benefit from having an accurate template. The rolling chair is a great idea for retreats. I never get a chair at one of those that is comfortable. Merry Christmas!

I'm now eyeing that rolling tractor seat! Super! Imagine the mayhem we could make!

  7. What fun! The Creative Grids version means you'll never have to hunt for the other triangle. (These specialty rulers remind me of the many ways to build better mousetraps.)

  8. I've been using clamps exactly like that to baste my quilts lately! They work! (I got them right off my husband's work bench, so they aren't as clean as yours, though :). i've been wanting to get the Crafted Applique book, too. Looking forward to seeing what you make out of it!

  9. Great haul! Those clamps are great for making quilt sandwiches on a table. I get the plastic variety at a local hardware store. That rolling tractor seat is genius! It's always dicey as to what type of chair you might get at a retreat and that seems small enough to pack into a car. Brilliant!
