DONE!!
Even though I declared a very easy One Monthly Goal (OMG) it has taken me over three weeks to get this flimsy done. I blame Quilter's ADD ...
Scrumptious Stars (a/k/a Star Gazing - design by Margot Languedoc |
I added a diagonal pink stripe (also Scrumptious) flange inside the border just for something different from the traditional inner border.
I did sew-and-flip corners for most of the star points. It was just easier since every star is a different fabric -- less thought involved. As a result, however, I have a lot of bonus half-square triangles, so you may see more of these fabrics show up in a baby quilt sometime soon. ;-)
This will probably be my contribution to the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church youth auction next year so it will be going to my LAQ very soon to get into her queue.
Heidi at Red Letter Quilts is the host for One Monthly Goal (OMG). Be sure to check in over there to see if other quilters met their OMG.
Conveniently, this top includes rosy reds, the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for September so I will be linking up with Angela at soscrappy to report my progress.
Congratulations on meeting your monthly goal. I bought this pattern after seeing it on your blog when you sewing the stars. Now you are reminding me to bring it out and play with it.

Good job meeting your goal this month. Didn't it go by fast? Your quilt IS scrumptious! XO
ReplyDeleteLOVE that little flanged accent!!
ReplyDeleteYour borders look great! I really like this star design, too. It has a little extra zing to it.
ReplyDeleteThose stars are so interesting with the squares inside them! Thanks for the close-up of the background fabric, too. Your star color choices are perfect for it!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on meeting this month's goal. You had a very productive month. I've been reading but not commenting (the shoulder still doesn't like the computer, I can read but not type). Congrats on getting a handle on your UFOs and on finding good homes for a couple more of your WIPs.
ReplyDeleteYay! Great job! I have been retreating and other stuff, so not even started on my OMG - gotta get down to business these next few days!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is very pretty and I'm sure that pale teal star is gorgeous. Scrumptious is one of my favorite B&C lines. Also, I'd never have thought to put a flanged border on anything other than the binding. Might have to try that sometime.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty star block design! I love the flange; it makes all the difference. I hope your quilt gets a good price at the auction.
ReplyDeleteLove the star pattern, new to me. It has a lacy appearance. And limiting your colors to the ones in the background makes it simple and coordinated. Well planned and completed, congrats!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those stars. I'm going to have to play around with that pattern. Your quilt is great, and I really like the little stripped flange you included. Great quilt to donate, but I would have wanted to keep it, I think!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to set a goal then actually carry it off. Well done.
ReplyDeleteIt is a starry circle of friends. I see the circle of friends block enclosed in a star. It is indeed very delicate-looking like lace. I agree with Paula. Congratulations on a fabulous finish.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Preeti.
Congratulations on finishing OMG a week ahead of schedule. I really like the block. (But I think that four-at-a-time geese could have worked okay.)
ReplyDeleteI love that little candy cane flange!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteIt really does look tricky, nicely done! =D
This really is scrumptious! You know how I adore the blocks, but they are so striking all together!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun pattern! I love the pink stripe flange.
