My apologies ... my tablet died last week with all my prep notes and I left town without the printed copies so I will do the best I can to get you started.  

Remember, for the purposes of this mystery, ALL you need is one light fat quarter and one dark fat quarter.

From EACH of one light fabric and one dark fabric you will need to cut the following:

·         8 rectangles – 2-1/2” x 4-1/2”

·         2 squares – 5” x 5”

·         4 squares – 3” x 3”

·         4 squares – 2-1/2” x 2-1/2”

This is enough to make four 8" blocks.  

The diagram below shows an efficient way to cut these from a pair of fat quarters (FQs), layered with right sides together (RST).  (Depending on the actual size of your FQs you may have to cut the 8^th rectangle from the bottom waste area.) 

HINT:  Keep your chunks right sides together to facilitate sewing.
