It Struck Again!

... Quilter's ADD

Over a week ago, when I should have been sewing triangle log cabins, I was working on Twist of Lime.  It still rests in a pile.

Twist of Lime in progress
Since returning from Illinois I have made six of these with three more cut:

Triangle Frenzy Swirl for Christmas gifts
So what's on my design wall?

Beach Party
These colorful strips were piled on my sewing table after I rejected them for the log cabin project.  Rather than just put them away, I decided to pair them with a set of white-on-white strips I purchased this week to make 4-patches.

I am working with a pattern from More Nickel Quilts called "Beach Party."  The pattern is a straight diagonal pattern, but I'm trying to make it more of a barn-raising setting.  Since I want the main chains to be a consistent color, I really need to plot the whole thing out in EQ.  And I need to find appropriate fabrics for the HSTs.  The "modern" fabrics are such clear colors that my stash fabrics are not playing well with them.  I may need to shop again ....

And all the while, my 2015 UFO list reminds me that I have only completed two of the ten I listed ....

  3. It's so fun to have multiple projects going! Who can resist starting a new one when those pretty fabrics are calling out to you?! Not me, I've started yet another new project, too....

  4. I have that Triangle Frenzy pattern and fabric, although I think it might not be the best for the design. I really should get it out and make it up but I too am trying to finish projects rather than start. Although this would be a very easy finish. I try hard to stick to only two or three projects at a time but honest, I get that add too. Sigh.

  6. Each project is different enough to make it fun to jump from one to another as the mood strikes. The Christmas tablerunner is great.

  7. Libby, I like what you have going on with the Twist of Lime project. Looks like you have quite a bit done. I made that Beach Party pattern, don't you like how the units go together? All from 5" scraps. I'll enjoy seeing the layout you create. Sandi
