Rewind
Those who follow me may remember that a little over a year ago the Main Man and I thought we had found this perfect lot to build our retirement dream home just south of Knoxville, TN on Tellico Lake.
Imagine our disappointment (that's definitely a G-rated spin on the situation) when the architectural guidelines changed in the middle of our planning. We could probably have argued our case that we purchased with a different set of guidelines in place, but our enthusiasm was definitely squelched.
So I set out on a quest for another piece of heaven, this time a little further east, further into the mountains, and closer to our favorite destinations in Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. We found it east of Kingsport, about 15 miles from the TN/VA line.
Let's get to the important stuff first: The north view from my quilting studio.
North |
East from kitchen |
West from living room |
South view from master bedroom |
Blackberry brambles |
The developer knows we're serious, but we need to make a commitment soon. Stay tuned.
Oh Libby that is such a beautiful place to build your home. Hope everything moves forward without any hiccups.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is just beautiful. I hope it all goes smoothly this time. In my experience it's pretty hard to kill a bramble so you should be left with plenty of blackberries.
ReplyDeleteWow! How exciting for you, especially after your disappointment last year. And Blackberry Hill sounds like a perfect name :*). Can't wait to see this little piece of heaven come to life!
ReplyDeleteWow - beautiful! I hope it all goes smoothly for you this time.
ReplyDeleteThere is no doubt about it, that is a beautiful piece of land, and the views are incredible. The north view is actually my favorite, because it reminds me of the red rock areas of Arizona. =) Kingsport is a nice area from what I hear. And some nice quilt shops not far away! desertskyquilts.wordpress.com
ReplyDeleteWow, what a gorgeous home site. Hope it all comes together for you this time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely site. I hope things go well for you at this location. We lived near Seattle for years and I know from experience you never need to worry about not enough blackberries. They grow like a jungle there. Blessings on your future here.
