Improv is Just Not My Thing

No matter how hard I try, I just can't get it.

Tiny Tuesday #11
I guess it's not terrible; I'm just not in love with it ...
and I have a second one in the works.

In the meantime, I found this on my table ...

I needed something to replace TT#10 that I mistakenly did in yellow.
It's a little small, only 4.5" unfinished, so I will add a bigger sashing.

This morning I wished I had time-lapse photography capability.

  1. Wow! Such a beautiful sunrise. There's nothing wrong with your IMPROV block! Is it the technique you're really not fond of or the fact that you have an unusual combination of GREEN scraps in your block? Just wondering...

  2. Beautiful sunrise! I really like your improv block! I think you will like it better when you join it with others. I know when I was first starting out with improv, I felt like I had to go out of my way to tell people it was supposed to be crooked!

  3. I also did that little log cabin and I struggled too. I just can't do that well. I just added strips instead of wonky pieces. I like how mine turned out.

  4. Your improv block looks pretty to me but I guess the world would be dull if we all liked the same things. Lovely sunrise photos!

  5. I completely understand your feelings about improv. I struggle with it as well, but I keep trying. I've found that "wonky" doesn't work for me but controlled improv is doable (like the stuff that Kelly from My Quilt Infatuation does). Beautiful sunrise photos, too!

  6. كثيراً ما يضيّع الإنسان الكثير من وقته في قراءة كتاب غير مفيد، أو قراءة كتاب صعب بينما هناك الأسهل، أو كتاب سطحي بينما هناك الأعمق.
