Out of Left Field

Wait, this wasn't on my design wall last week!

Moda Frivol No. 2 - Faithful
Remember, I said I was obsessed with cleaning up messes.  And one of the biggest messes is my sewing table.  This box was on the table and I refused to put it back on the shelf.

It was a Secret Santa gift a couple of Christmases ago and I set about making it right away.  But I reached a point where I put it back in the box.  I was one block short of finishing the center!  So in the last couple of days I made the final block and assembled the center.  I decided to skip the pieced border and just went with plain fabric.

The box included directions for churn dash blocks to use the remnants.  All I could eek out was 6
dashes -- not enough to do much with.

I'm considering either a table runner -- that would need more fabric from the stash -- or possibly a strip insert in the back of the little quilt.

I also worked on the Tiny Tuesday fan from a week or so ago.  I will attach it to the background when I get out a machine that does zig-zag.

I've also caught up with the sashing on my Tiny Tuesday blocks to date.  Sorry, no photo.

  1. Good for you, Libby!! Way to tell that sewing table who is boss. I really like your simplified version of this little cutie!!

  2. I got all of those boxes the year they came out and didn't make one pattern that came with them but used some of the fabric for other things - but your post reminded me that I have a box full of all the left overs that I need to go through and do something with - even if that is cutting and putting with scraps.

  3. That's a fun mini! You are really going through things and getting them done! Your TT fan looks really good - how did you make it? I drew a template which was way off and ended up with a wonky fan. I think I'm going to redo it, but use a different method.
