OMG March Update

My Goal for March:

Finish Summer Heat
Summer Heat

Here's where I stand...

I finished assembling the blocks, tore off the papers, sashed and assembled the rows. Even managed to get two of the borders on.

I don't know what it is about borders -- I just don't enjoy that part of making a quilt. Maybe it's the wrangling of all that fabric or the fear that after all that effort it won't come out square.

Of course, leaving the last/third border fabric in Arkansas for three days didn't help. Had hoped to finish up last night but my Rainbow Scrap Challenge project occupied the table I needed for laying out and measuring Summer Heat.

  1. It's really lovely! I'm impressed that you got all those blocks together without throwing them out a window - there are twelve points in those centers, right? I'd still be screaming in a corner somewhere...

  2. This quilt is really beautiful! I agree; I don't really like to put on borders, but I think they're needed on most of my quilts.
I don't think I have any orange UFOs or even that much fabric; that would be a hard challenge for me. Sharon B in Franklin

  4. Gorgeous, Libby! And I feel the same way about making borders as you do. It's a good feeling to get them finished!

  5. I'm less than enthusiastic about getting the borders done too. You got really close to done, any progress is good.
