Small Triangle Squares
Welcome to Clue 4 of our Magical Mystery Block Quilt-Along.
Remember: The pieces combine to make two different blocks:
Block A and Block B.
All seams are 1/4"
For this clue you will be using the 3" x 3" squares.
Make sure you are using the 3" squares and not the 2-1/2" squares!
Pair a light 3" square with a dark 3" square, right sides together.
Pair a light 3" square with a dark 3" square, right sides together.
You know the drill.
Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the back of the light square.
Stitch 1/4" on each side of the drawn line.
Cut apart on the drawn line.
Press to the dark fabric or press the seam open.
Trim to 2-1/2", making sure the seam goes from corner to corner.
For every two FQs pairs you cut, you will have 8 small triangle squares (a/k/a HSTs)
Let's plan to link up again on Monday to report our progress.
If you don't get to this right away, I'll catch up the links whenever I see your post.
Happy Stitching!
PS: Orthopaedic specialist didn't think surgery would be required on the ankle,
so I'm in a boot and maneuvering with a walker. Getting by on Advil.
I go back next Friday for follow-up x-rays.
I even sewed some of my blocks together yesterday using my left foot on the pedal!
(Unfortunately, I can't show evidence of my sewing progress as it is a secret ...)

Hope the boot helps with speedy healing. Happy stitching this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you don't require surgery for you ankle. I'm praying for a speedy healing process and am so glad you can drive your machine with your left foot! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, goody! More bits to play with! I hope I can get to the studio sometime this weekend. (We've had another snowdump grrr grrr grrr)
ReplyDeleteWishing you speedy healing!
Hooray for left-footed sewing! :) We've been out of town this week, but headed home today, and your blocks will be first on my list!
ReplyDeleteWhew!! That's a relief. Surgery is NO FUN and really cuts into your sewing time... at least, that's what I've heard!!
ReplyDeleteGlad your ankle is going to be OK! Just finished my HSTs :) How many more clues will we have?
ReplyDeleteYou're getting close to the end!
DeleteOh, my, I have been gone and missed all the clues. Time to power up and catch up. Sharon B., in Franklin
ReplyDeleteHoping your ankle is well soon. Magical Mystery sounds fun, and I said that I wouldn't join another QAL until all of my many WIPs are finished, lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the party, but have decided to join the fun!
