Tuesday at the Lake

It's a good thing I managed to do this yesterday ...

Fabric shelves up in new studio
I even managed to weed out some fabric I knew I wouldn't use to pass on to other local quilters ...

Fabric rejects
... and I managed to finish up my green Loosey Goosey column ...

... and the RSC Sampler block.

Because today I did this ...

3 Hours in the ER
While surveying the acreage with lawncare guys, I slipped on a rock, hyperextended my knee, almost fell into the lake, and broke my right ankle in the process.  At least there were 3 strong guys there to help me up the little hill!

Now I can't even go down to the studio or sew ... or drive so I'll have to ride back to house 1 in the truck with DH.  Will see an orthopedic specialist back in Nashville.  Hoping it will just need a cast, no surgery.

  1. Libby!!! I guess you know how to make us wait for the important stuff! I'm so sorry to see what happened. Hope you are not in too much pain, and healing moves along smoothly. Sending quilty hugs!

  2. What a nightmare! I'm so sorry this happened, hope you're not in too much pain.

Prayers and fingers crossed that no surgery is required.

  3. Ouch! What a terrible time for this to happen. Hope you aren't in too much pain and that it doesn't slow you down too long.

  4. Oh no! I am so sorry, Libby! I’ll be praying that surgery won’t be necessary and that you will have a speedy recovery. This is not the welcome you wanted to your new home!

  5. Oh! I literally gasped when I saw this! Oh, sweetie, I hope they gave you lots of the good meds, and that all you need are a cast and some rest! Oh!

  6. OMG! What you lacked in luck by hurting yourself, you made up for with timing in composing a great (but sad) post. So sorry to hear that you’re going to need at least a cast. I hope you heal quickly and comfortably so that you’re on your feet - literally - soon. xo

  7. You have my prayers for healing quickly.

  8. OOOH, so sorry to hear about your accident!! Get better soon!

  9. Oh, Libby -- that is NOT the way to settle into your new surroundings. I will pray for swift healing and a cheerful attitude.

  10. Poor girl! So three men swept you off your feet? Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Hope you have some hand work handy!
